Hallo everybody!!!
I'm new to the list, so I hope this
is the right place for my questions...
I'm working for an ISP in Verona, Italy.
Our system is configured as follows
PC 486DX2 66, 16M RAM
Cyclades 16Y multiport board
CERN HTTPD Ver 3.0
We use PPP (pppd ver 2.1.2d on kernel 1.2.1)
and the results are quite good.
Now, the question!
Some... "friends" (?) of mine still say that
SLIP / CSLIP is faster than PPP.
I've read many news and heard opinions of
many different people about this 'querelle'.
I think PPP is better, and I see that other
big italian ISP are converting their lines
from SLIP to PPP.
Still, I'd like to hear your opinion on the
problem.
Is there some WWW/FTP/Gopher/whatever-you-want
site with some statistics and technical data on this
argument?
Thank you in advance!
