I have two connections to the internet through two different local providers.
Between the two of them, I am able to stay online about 90-95% of the time.
They are both dialup SLIP connections, and I use a program of my own creation
to keep them both connected as much as possible.
What I am looking for is a simple way to switch the default route when
one of the SLIP interfaces goes down. One provider supplies routing
information and the other does not. Is this something routed or gated
can do for me? I have up on routed a while ago because one of the
providers sends me bogus routing information.
Yes, both providers are pathetic. There isn't anything I can do about that,
though...
It's easy enough for me to change the default route by hand when I am at
home, but I can't do a thing about it from work or anywhere else.
Thanks!
Jeff
