PPP in kernels past 1.2.7 ***REQUIRE*** the use of pppd-2.1.2d from sunsite.
The problem is not in the kernel. The problem is that the daemon told the
driver the wrong information about a parameter for the VJ header
compression. Update the daemon. (IF you find that the new daemon does not
work then make sure that you are running it and not an earlier version in
your path.)
