Actually, Uncle Bill did it right, but it still won't work.
DHCP is defined in RFCs 1533, 1534, 1541 and 1542. DHCP is an
extension of the BOOTP protocol which is defined in RFC 951.
Because DHCP is an extension of BOOTP, BOOTP doesn't handle
everything.
It is my understanding that Sun has an implementation of DHCP
for Solaris, so this isn't an "Uncle Bill" only thingy.
Also, from my playing with it in class, I would have to agree
that it is much easier to set up and manage than BOOTP.
