I've applied that patch on our server and everything is alright.
You'll find information in the patch itself and on
http://www.thesphere.com/~dlp/TwoServers
But  I've never liked patching, so at home I've installed Linux 
2.0.(19 at the moment) because Ip aliasing is built in the kernel.Soon 
I'll change the kernel at work.
If I remember well I had to create a link in /usr/src called linux 
pointing to /usr/src/linux-1.2.13 (or something similar) because the 
patch relyes on it 
You'll find information even in a mini HOWTO called virtual-web (?)

P.S Sorry I can't remeber if it's right "relyes" or "relies" , my 
english is quite rusty :-)
