Good day to everyone, I hope that the week is proceeding nicely for
all concerned.

I would not be opposed to supplying hooks into the klogd binary but
there may be a mechanism already in place.

I added support for named pipes in the syslogd daemon which comes with
the sysklogd package. It should be reasonably easy to build a
userspace daemon that listens on the other end of the named pipe and
handles the analysis of the log messages. I would be more than
willing to include this daemon in the sysklogd package.

I am just about ready to release a three patch set to sysklogd 1.3
which should cleanup most of the problems people have been
experiencing. The new version of klogd also has extensive support for
analyzing protection faults coming out of loadable modules. My plans
are to test patch level 3, include fixes from the testing and then
release a 2.0 version to go along with what will be our production
kernel for the next year or so. Now would be the time to include
something like this.

Please keep me informed if anything develops.
