  I Think you must drop the details of the bug to someone interested to find
  a workaround for it much like the PCTCP bug workaround wich can be
  optionally compiled into the kernel.  This will hopefully get the two
  systems talking again.  Look at the documentation in the kernel to find
  the contact persons.  For a start try Alan Cox.

That was already done.  By the time I sent that, I had already contacted Linus,
who brought in Alan and Eric, and we'd tracked down and discussed the bug,
reported it to Emulex, and even had it acknowledged as a bug by Emulex.
