I have a version of the 3c59x "Vortex" driver that exploits bus master
mode for transmission, and I use it to drive a 3c595 Fast Ethernet NIC.
Besides having observed no effect on FTP performance (but I was not expecting
any throughput improvement), I observe a collision frequency much higher
than without bus mastering.
Can anyone suggest me why the probability of frame collision should increase
when my NIC works in bus mastering mode?
Thanks
