Well, you could see my article in the May issue of the _Linux Journal_.
I think that they still have back issues. The title was "The Rough and
Tumble World of the Linux-based ISP", and it was nothing great, but ok.

It will work. My experience at my new job has brought to my attention
the problems which Linux has under network load. It has also brought to
my attention the problems which every other OS has under network load.
We built Cheney Comm.'s network with Linux, and the documentation and
wide range of software saved my Exxon more than once. For beginners,
Linux is a great way to go.
Be forewarned, however, that it will not last you forever. If you grow,
then you will have to grow beyond Linux, too, as there are network tasks
where it simply does not hold up to the competition.
Good luck, and I hope you're not planning to start up in the Southeastern
US. Goodwill among Linuxers only goes so far. 8^)
