I am attempting to add a second IP address to my ethernet interface.
Caldera Network Desltop 1.0, kernel 1.3.83. I have recompiled and
answered yes for the IP_ALIAS option.
When up do the following:
ifconfig eth0:1 204.97.176.200
I get the following errors:
In /var/log/messages:
May 16 11:00:13 www kernel: net_alias_dev_create(eth0:1): unregistered family==2
On stderror:
SIOCSIFADDR: Invalid argument
Does anyone have any idea what is happening here. I have read the HOWTO's
and as far as I know I am following them. Any advice appreciated.
TIA,
Mark
