  It's all in the Ethernet-HOWTO , anyway here is what you have to do.
First, disable de Plug'n'Pray feature. You should use the 3Com 5x9
configuration program to do this (if you don't have it, it's available at
3Com's web site).
  Then reboot your computer and append to the LILO prompt ether=0,0,eth1 .
  This should be enough.
