These are links to go into your bookmark.html file...
http://www.analysys.co.uk/commslib.htm
http://src.doc.ic.ac.uk/bySubject/Networking.html
http://curia.ucc.ie/info/net/acronyms/acro.html
It's the last one that will allow you to look up acronyms like the
ones that you are looking for. For example, "dhcp" and "fddi" give
(edited):

Results of search for `dhcp'
DHCP
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol [BOOTP-like Micro$oft's
protocol]
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol [WinNT's version of
BOOTP etc to give out IP addresses]
....
Results of search for `fddi'
FDDI
Fiber Digital Device Interface
Fiber Distributed Data Interface

Searches seem to fail on like switch/bridge/router (it's only an
acronym server, although you can also look for words in the
expansions).
These specific terms can be found in the glossary of any half-decent
book on networking (try looking for any by William Stallings).
I wish there was a way to download the entire database, but I can't
seem to find a link that will allow me to do that :-(
Cheers .
