Thanks to all those that gave suggestions to the problem below.
Unfortunately it hasn't been solved. Any other suggestions?
I installed Slackware version 2.0 ( Kernel 1.1.59) , no problem.
I reinstalled version 3.0 ( Kernel 1.2.13) and cannot ping any host by
name ( by IP number OK ), cannot Telnet out. I can Telnet in
though. I checked all the configuration files and they are set up just
like the 2.0 version. I selected the IDENET kernel during
installation. My card is 3COM Etherlink lll, 3C5X9.
