Dummy Device: multiple instances use same hardware address?

Hello,
Is it true that when I load multiple instances of the dummy device,
all of these get by default the same hardware address (as printed by
ifconfig)? Is that important? Or is it ignored anyway because there will
never be any arp queries over dummy*?
