Intel Ether Express or EtherPro 16 Network Card Use

Dear Folks:
I am trying to get either Intel Ether Express or EtherPro 16
Network Card working on the Red Hat Linux 2.1 (1.2.13)
I does not recognise the card even at the LILO: prompt.
example : LILO: ether=5,0x300,eth0
It does work with a NE2000 though.
Can any one tell me how to get it working for the Intel cards?
