If we get PCI, then what controller would be best? I'm using a
NCR53c810 at home, and it is running fine, but it seems that the
driver doesn't support more than one outstanding command, so the
advantages of SCSI will be reduced. Is there anyone out there using
a Buslogic 946S (PCI) controller? The HOWTO says that it is slower
than the NCR, but I assume it would be faster with multiple disks
due to disconnect/reconnect support.
Does anyone know if/when disconnect/reconnect support is planned for
the NCR driver? We won't have multiple disks when we start up, so it
won't be an issue for a while.

Okay, thanks for your (and everyone elses) suggestions!
