Greetings Net-guru's.

I got the v1.3.72 and 73 kernels (my last one was 1.3.66), compiled
them and whilst they seemed stable enough from the console or using a ppp
serial link I seemed to have lost my connection to the local net

The network card is an 8 bit 3c503, PIO mode (yeah, I know I should use
shared memory). and is identified correctly at bootup.

I noticed it when my Xterm wouldn't start up.

When I ping the xterm, I get a kernel syslog error...

lorien kernel: Socket destroy delayed

I have gone back to 1.3.66 in the meantime. The card is a tad difficult to
get at, but I may have another go using shared memory later.

   Tim

BTW. My big kernel jump was due to Pneumonia, I was only off my machine for a
fortnight but the mailing lists had queued up 2057 mail messages for me!!! I'm
going to be an old man before I get through that lot :-) (net, kernel, samba)
