Hi,

Last night, I compiled Linux kernel version 1.3.72 (ftp from:
http://ftp.cs.umn.edu/packages/Linux/Kernel/v1.3/) and was able to successfully
log in with the compiled kernel. However, I encountered the following problems:
(1) the program, top, complained about a floating point exception
(2) the command, ps -u, also complained about a floating point exception

Is the floating point exception a bug in the kernel or a mis-configuration of
my system?
