Well, this one is easy, latest kernel which is considered stable is 1.2.13.
You can go for the newer ones aswell, but they are development kernels.
It depends what kind of purpose you are thinking to use Linux ? I would
go (and already have) for the 1.2.13 in my office and then test the
latest kernels at home :)
