(I don't know EXACTLY what EAGAIN means as you described BUT..)

  You should upgrade your nfs software, there is AT LEAST:

  nfs-server-2.2beta4.tar.gz

out there. This fixes a load of stuff including security holes. Let me
see if I can find the ftp address... aha, here we are (good ole grep)

Unless its changed since I got it. I hear there is work on a kernel
level nfs server too, which should improve speed...
