Hi.
I have problems using IP masq. from baby (uname -a == SunOS baby 4.1.1 1
sun3).
The masq host is linux 1.3.46 (ann == 192.9.200.20)
The IP masq worx from other machines (192.9.200.20, 200, 201), but not from
baby (192.9.200.1)
Dunno why. Anybody has a clue ?
I'm using the ipfw (not ./ipfw-for-1.3.10) from ftp.eves.com:/pub/masq.
(not the version ./ipfw-for-1.3.10 -- doesn't work on ann, but I
guess the ipfw executable souldn't make a difference ... or does it ?!)
the cmds are:
ipfw add m all from exodus/24 to 0.0.0.0/0
ipfw add m all from numbers/24 to 0.0.0.0/0
ipfw add m all from baby/24 to 0.0.0.0/0
e.g. I can do telnet to outside network from exodus or numbers, but not from
baby.
When I try telnet from baby, I see the rx/tx lights on the netcard on my
masq gw (ann) blinking, but the modem lights (PPP connection to the
outside net) are inactive.
Could it be routing ?
on baby I say :
# route add host default ann 1500
add host default: gateway ann
# route
usage: route [ -n ] [ -f ] [ cmd [ net | host ] args ]
(seems there is no way to display the routing table ...)
baby's ifconfig is :
bash# ./ifconfig le0
le0: flags=63<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING>
inet 192.9.200.1 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.9.200.0
ether 8:0:20:6:5f:9e
OR ! is that necessary that the ipfw gw would be 192.9.200.1 instead of
192.9.200.20 !?
Thanx,
Jan
