Ever since 1.3.38, I havn't been able to get irc to work. I can
get it to work if I use 37. I get ping timeouts when I try to connect to
the server. I'm on a slip connection to emulated slip (slirp). I'd
blame it on slirp, except that it used to work before. And I can't
change back to 1.3.37 because the new libc needs the readv and writev
from 1.3.40 and up.
I'm using libc 5.2.13, gcc 2.7.1, kernel 1.3.41, ld.so 1.7.10.
