You can configure the NT server to use PAP by setting the authentication 
to "Accept plaintext passwords" (nice of them to obfuscate everything 
like that).

Some folks have ports of the CHAP/80 algorithm, but it hasn't been
integrated into pppd because of the export legalities of DES, which Microsoft
used as the hashing algorithm.
