Using 1.3.34 I notice that the usage count in /proc/net/route for
the interfaces has changed. Firstly there is no header line (which
is a shame because it enables identification of the columns).
Secondly, and more seriously, it seems no longer to be quite
correct. The usage count USED to increase by one for each ping,
for example. Made sense. Now, using interface sl0, I notice that
it doesn't work like that any more! I don't like the new behaviour
and it will break some code.
Can anyone comment on this new behaviour? Alternatively (I mean,
without the /proc filesystem), can anyone tell me how I obtain
a usage count for an interface by using an 'ioctl'? I can't seem
to find it.
Please 'reply' to this mail.
Thanks, Karl
