Having more than one network number on the same ethernet segment is fine,
at least for linux, and any other *nix I've used. Simply add the
additional network routes, and all is well. Because I have had to maintain
a nameserver on an old network and have it accessible from a new network,
I have 2 entirely different class C nets on the same ethernet segment.
