Hi,

During an IP renumbering, I lost NFS in my linux boxes. I have a
network of 4 linux boxes, all running some version of 1.2.x, one of
themm a router to the Internet.

Now, since changing from a non-subnetted (ie, 255.255.255.0 mask)
class C to one with the last byte 192, every time I wan;t to nfs mount
any drive from any machine, I get:

Sep 3 00:56:52 ebola.netup.cl portmap[17359]: connect from 200.27.30.65 to getp
ort(mountd): request from unauthorized host
Sep 3 00:56:52 ebola.netup.cl portmap[17358]: connect from 200.27.30.65 to getp
ort(mountd): request from unauthorized host

Always twice, never the name,, just IP. This error appeasr even when I try
to mount a machine drive to itself...

So, I think the proble lies on not being able to back-resolve the machines IP.
I double checked nameservice and /etc/hosts file to no avail.

Did I miss something really obvious, with such a trivial solution I will
be ashamed of my last 3 year as network admin? Or I stuped on some bug
or incompatibility?

Many thanks for your help'
