SAN ANTONIO A female training instructor at a Texas Air Force
base has been ordered to serve three months in jail after pleading
guilty to having sex with a male student.A military judge in San
Antonio on Thursday also ordered Staff Sgt. Emily Allen to do 30
days of hard labor and reduced her rank to airman first class.Allen
was the first woman among more than 30 instructors at Joint Base
San Antonio-Lackland charged in what has turned into the military branch's
worst sex scandal.She pleaded guilty Wednesday to having sex with a male
airman in 2011, seeking to have a sexual relationship with another male
trainee plus having unprofessional social relationships with two female
students.

occasionally sneaked into and around a Texas fertilizer plant in the years
before a massive, deadly explosion sometimes looking for a chemical
fertilizer stored at the plant that can be used to make methamphetamine,
according to local sheriff's records.Sheriff's deputies were called more
than 10 times to West Fertilizer in the 11 years before an
April 17 blast that killed 14 people, injured 200 and leveled part
of the tiny town of West, according to McLennan County sheriff's office
files released through an open-records request. Multiple calls involved
suspicion that anhydrous ammonia was being stolen.The records portray a
plant with no outer fence that was a sporadic target of intruders.
Law enforcement was occasionally called because someone had noticed the
smell of gas outside or signs of an intruder.Anhydrous ammonia is a
fertilizer that is a frequent target of burglars trying to manufacture methamphetamine.
In the right conditions it can be flammable or explosive, though that
is nearly impossible outdoors. However, a leak of the gas could create
a potentially fatal toxic chemical
that appeal is under way, meaning only Plan B One-Step would
appear on drugstore shelves until the case is finally settled. If Korman's
order isn't suspended during the appeals process, the result would be "substantial
market confusion, harming FDA's and the public's interest" as drugstores
receive conflicting orders about who's allowed to buy what, the Justice
Department concluded.Reluctant to get drawn into a messy second-term spat
over social issues, White House officials insisted Wednesday that both the
FDA and the Justice Department were acting independently of the White House
in deciding how to proceed. But the decision to appeal was certain
to irk abortion-rights advocates who say they can't understand why a Democratic
president is siding with social conservatives in favor of limiting women's
reproductive choices.Current and former White House aides said Obama's approach
to the issue has been heavily influenced by his experience as the
father of two school-age daughters. Obama and Health and Human Services
Secretary Kathleen Sebelius have also questioned whether there's enough
data available to show the morning-after pill is safe and appropriate for
younger girls, even though physicians groups insist that it is.Rather than
