MIS:Press has published Linux Installation and Configuration (ISDN
1-55828-426; $39.95) by Patrick Volkerding, Kevin Reichard, and Eric F.
Johnson. The book/CD combo includes Linux kernel 1.2, Xfree86 3.1.1,
Slackware 2.3, complete installation routines and lots of goodies (GNU C/C++
compiler, TCP/IP networking, GNU Emacs, LessTif, DOOM for Linux). The price
is $39.95 for the book/CD combo.
To order, call 212-886-9200 or check with your local bookseller (the book
made last week's Barnes & Noble best-seller list, and it's available
everywhere). The original announcement spawned a ton of e-mail and telephone
calls my way, and while I appreciate the attention, I am not personally
selling copies of the book, nor can I take an order over the phone for you. <g>
