ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. The Tampa Bay Rays apologized for what the
team described as a lapse in judgment by a club mascot photographed
holding an "inappropriate sign" making reference to Steve Irwin, a popular
television personality and wildlife expert who died in 2006 after being
attacked by a stingray. The furry mascot known as Raymond was handed a
"Rays To Do List" by a fan during Wednesday night's game against
Baltimore. The sign had "1. Steve Irwin" crossed off" and listed the
World Series second. The team issued an apology after a photo of the
mascot holding the sign wound up on the internet. A statement said
fans are welcome to carry signs that are not offensive into the
ballpark but that the club regretted "this particular sign" was displayed.

intrusion in a woman's personal medical decisions," he said.Brownback has
signed multiple anti-abortion measures into law, and the number of pregnancies
terminated in the state has declined 11 percent since he took office
in January 2011.The governor said he still has to review this year's
bill thoroughly but added, "I am pro-life."This year's legislation is less
restrictive than a new North Dakota law that bans abortions as early
as the sixth week of pregnancy and a new Arkansas law prohibiting
most abortions after the 12th week. But many abortion opponents still see
it as a significant step."There is a clear statement from Kansas with
respect to the judgment on the inherent value of human life," said
Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee Chairwoman Mary Pilcher-Cook,
a Shawnee Republican and leading advocate for the measure. The bill passed
despite any solid data on how many sex-selection abortions are performed
in Kansas. A 2008 study by two Columbia University economists suggested
the practice of aborting female fetuses -- widespread in some nations where
parents traditionally prefer sons -- is done in the U.S. on a
limited basis. But legislators on both sides of the issue said the practice
should be banned, however frequent it is.The bill also would require physicians
to give women information that addresses breast cancer as a potential risk
of abortion. Advocates on both sides acknowle

<p style="font-size:xx-small;">Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider
themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise.Interestingly
enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing,
there is little to no trend in the number of those who
express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People arent saying they dont believe
in God. Theyre saying they dont believe in religion. They are not
rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question,
Why are we losing our religion? Some may be losing their religion, but
I challenge the notion that faith in general is waning.I believe, instead,
the trend of people who dont identify as part of an organized
religion speaks to an increasing wariness of labels in our culture. Those
labels carry baggage for many who might have been hurt by the
Church or let down by religion. You see, religion alone can only take
a person so far. Religion can make us nice, but only Christ
can make us new. Religion focuses on outward behavior. Relationship is an
inward transformation. Religion focuses on what I do, while relationship
centers on what Jesus did. Religion is about me. Relationship is about
Jesus. In order to become a new person, we need Christ. Only through
an active ongoing relationship with Jesus can we become transformed and
overcome the labels that bind us.In fact, Ive struggled with what people
think of my label: pastor. For many, this label carries emoti
Pyongyang may be planning a missile launch
or another provocation around Wednesday, according to presidential spokeswoman
Kim Haing.During a meeting with other South Korean officials, the official,
Kim Jang-Soo, also said the notice to diplomats and other recent North
Korean actions are an attempt to stoke security concerns and to force
South Korea and the U.S. to offer a dialogue. Washington and Seoul
want North Korea to resume the six-party nuclear talks -- which also
include China, Russia and Japan -- that it abandoned in 2009.The roughly
two dozen countries with embassies in North Korea had not yet announced
whether they would evacuate their staffs.British Foreign Secretary William
Hague suggested that North Korea's comments about foreign diplomats are
"consistent" with a regime that is using the prospect of an external
threat to justify its militarization to its people."I haven't seen any immediate
need to respond to that by moving our diplomats out of there,"
he told the BBC on Saturday. "We will keep this under close
review with our allies, but we shouldn't respond and play to that
rhetoric and that presentation of an external threat every time they come
out with it."Germany said its embassy in Pyongyang would stay open for
at least the time being."The situation there is tense but calm," a
German Foreign Office official, who declined to be named in line with
department policy, said in an email. "The security and danger of the
