I have ported an audio spectrum analyzer program to Linux, and need some
people to test it on various platforms. So far I have only tested it on
my 486DX33 running Linux 1.2.10, with a PAS-16 sound card.
The program samples data from /dev/dsp (8 or 16 bit linear audio),
performs an FFT, and plots the result in real time. There are command
line options, INI file options, and run-time commands which allow
modification of the sample rates and display. The SVGALIB shared
libraries are required as is a VGA display capable of the 640x480x256
video mode. Mixer support is also available.
The program is available at http://bul.eecs.umich.edu/~phillipv/signal,
or by contacting me at phillipv@eecs.umich.edu.
