It recently came to my attention that most of the linux archive sites,
such as tsx-11.mit.edu and sunsite.unc.edu, no longer carry the a.out
specific libraries, headers, and compilers.

Much as I repsect the development and movement towards the ELF binary
standard, I fail to see the logic in forcing its use upon the masses of
linux users when the level of stability and compatibility it provides
falls far below that which I am ready to accept.

I spend much of my time on the #linux irc channels, both on linuxnet
and EFnet, hearing complaint after complaint about ELF. In an effort to
continue supporting those users that have decided they wish to use linux
for purposes other than 'hunting the proverbial bugs in ELF', I am
pleased to announce two ftp sites that will make the continued
availability of a.out archives their sole purpose.

Feel free to send any comments to karl@blackdown.org. If they're flames,
I'll duly ignore them. As a side note, please don't send me mail
concerning the use of '-b i486-linuxaout'.
