I would like to extend a bit THANK YOU to all that attended the LINUX
LUG meeting on Tuesday night, the LINUX technical sessions on Wednesday
and the LINUX seminar today (Thursday). You have helped to prove to
DECUS management that there is a real interest in LINUX, and that DECUS
can play a role in helping it maintain its momentum. By my "back of the
eyeball" estimates, the attendance at these events was:
Combined LINUX LUGs meeting: 170+
LINUX Technical sessions: 20-250+
LINUX Seminar: 59 (not counting myself, Tove & Linus)
The MBONE rebroadcast of Linus' keynote drew the heaviest number of requests
for connections (over 150 audio and video requests). A copy of this tape
was sent via FedEx to the LINUX Congress in Berlin, but I have not yet
received confirmation that it was shown to the attendees.
DECUS is interested in conducting further LINUX activities at other symposia
in the future.
If you have any comments or criticisms (I take the good with the bad) of
how this portion of the Spring '95 DECUS Symposium went, please let me
know either in the newsgroup, or send me mail at
