<!--As distant as i can strikingly keep in mind, as a young girl, i was j=
ubilant and innocent. I was raised by my struggling mother, who never depri=
ved me of affection. I was undoubtedly the apple of my mother's eye. Taking=
a trip down my memory lane, there were times i would wake up and find myse=
lf on bed when i never really strolled to bed. It turned out that my dear m=
other would carry me to bed whenever i fell asleep on the couch while watch=
ing my favourite cartoons-my little pony. Did i mention on how i used to fa=
ntasize on meeting my prince-charming? Well, yes i did fancy that i was a p=
rincess. Also that, one day i would get to meet my prince just like how the=
princesses in the shows i used to watch met theirs. I know it sounds sense=
less and silly, but at that time it was one of my greatest and lovely dream=
s i had. I was a young girl after all. To be honest, i still hold on the co=
nviction that i would get to meet my mr right one day. Regarding my favouri=
te climate as a child, it was the rainy weather. I for the most part enjoye=
d the fact that i could get myself drenched. Senseless right? But it was on=
e of the best things during those times. Although i would get a good scoldi=
ng from my mother and also cold flu, these never stopped me from enjoying m=
y top pick climate. Moreover, i enjoyed the scent it came with, for it was =
pleasing smelling it. As for the snowfall, I have always been inquisitive a=
bout how it felt to experience it as we do not experience it here in Botswa=
na. I have only seen it in the movies, especially Christmas movies and it s=
eemed interesting. There were times were i would amuse myself with house pl=
ay. Now that i mentioned it, i remember how i used to frantically want to d=
evelop quick. So houseplay is were i would emulate being a grown- up. I wou=
ld take care of my Barbie dolls and teddies. Coming to think of it, it was =
so dense of me to want that. I was clueless of the duties grown-ups need to=
fulfill. Getting back to all about being a child. You know the feeling whe=
n it's your birthday? It is one of the most prominent feeling if you were t=
o ask me. It's a day were i used to get dolled up with cute and flattering =
dress, sparking jewelry and glittering birthday crown. As for a birthday wi=
thout a birthday cake, it's not a birthday at least to me. My birthday cake=
always had to be pink, thick and whipped with a lot of cream making it mou=
th-watering. It's flavour was out of this world, as it was my mother who al=
ways baked it. Not overlooking the finest portion of the birthday-jumping c=
astle. It was a must for my every birthday to have one. As for the gifts, i=
wouldn't say i always liked all of them but i did appreciate the thought a=
nd time of gifting them. All of these were of course a lot more enjoyable s=
ince i would do them with my friends. Talking about friends, I keep in mind=
my pre school and primary school days were i made friends. You must be thi=
nking when did you get time for friends amid school hours? So you see i was=
a cheerful young lady back then. At whatever point we did school work, i w=
ould make it less studious and a bit fun. It was really the aura that i gav=
e. So i would offer assistance to others by selecting the colors that best =
suited the diagram given. Sharing my packed lunch was also how i got to mak=
e friends and clearly not my top choice biscuits-eet sum mor. This made my =
mother think i always wrapped up my lunch. One of the most pleasant things =
i delighted in as a child was graduation celebrations. I liked the fact tha=
t i could plaint a wonderful hairstyle of my choice, a pleasant dress and p=
ut on the graduation gown which is an honour on its own. Above all, I could=
participate on dance, singing, acting and also reciting poem. Decorations =
would also be made and i mostly liked the balloons with all sorts of bright=
colours. Not overlooking the delicious delicacies of all kinds. However, t=
he saddening part of it was that it was notifying me of the parting with my=
school friends. From junior years to senior years, playing outside and amu=
sing myself was not on my books anymore. Those were my teenage years were i=
felt i was old enough to be seen moving up and down outdoors. The only thi=
ng that got my consideration was my first phone ever and i could connect to=
the internet and watch a bunch of staff. Because of it, social media went =
to my head that sometimes i would not figure out what will be happening aro=
und as i would be glued to my phone. Despite of the countless opportunities=
found on the internet, i never utilised them, but was getting drained by s=
ocial media. Now that i am a young adult, i am turning things around and ge=
tting a handle on these online opportunities. As the years go by, it appear=
s that the duties and challenges are adding on and on. The free and stress =
less life is coming to an end. Thinking and working for the better future i=
s the assignment that has to be done. My mother did hers her way, that is w=
hy i was able to get what i needed as a child and now it is my turn. Yes th=
e task comes up with worries especially when things do not go well. Now tha=
t i am mature and a young adult, i have realised that it is about the journ=
ey, have fun while working on your future. Sometimes you just have to giggl=
e at your mistakes while learning from them. Those good old days were truly=
gold and are still vivid on my mind as of today. Yes the innocent, happy, =
small Felicia lived them. Wholesome childhood memories indeed!--->=20
