Evangeline nodded. She braided her hair and then sharpened her sword. She c=
ounted her arrows and then watched Anwel. Anwel ate some dried meat and the=
n packed up.=20
He was going deliberately slow. ?Anwel, you?re not afraid are you?? she jok=
ed, laughing. =20
?Yes. I am afraid. We are going to charge into a stronghold full of killer =
humanoids. We will most definitely be outnumbered. And you?re going in firs=

Evangeline laughed. ?I?m afraid too. But I know something you don?t.?=20
She held out something in her outstretched hand. Anwel gasped. ?Those aren?=
t??=20
?Explosives.?=20
?Where did you get them??=20
Evangeline shrugged. ?I found them in the bag Onitor gave me. They were in =
a hidden pocket.?
Anwel shook his head in disbelief. ?There?s more to you than meets the eye.=
Those are so hard to make.? =20
So they crept on their silent Elf feet towards the hole. Evangeline threw o=
ne of the three explosives into the hole. They heard a boom resonate and th=
e shrieks of the creatures.=20
They snuck into the hole, Anwel ready to loose an arrow and Evangeline clut=
ching her sword with both hands. A few Inugami came into sight, and Anwel s=
hot them before they even knew they were there.=20
As they approached the meeting room, they could hear the strains of the gut=
tural language. The stronghold was supported with stone pillars and had bra=
ziers stuck into the walls.=20
When they reached the doors of the meeting room as well as the bodies of th=
e Inugami. Anwel took out the arrows. ?So they don?t know who killed them. =
My arrows are of Wood Elf design.?=20
Evangeline nodded. She threw an explosive into the meeting room and then sh=
runk into a corner to steel herself against the explosion.=20
Suddenly, 36 Inugami swarmed from another hallway. ?Anwel! They saw us!? Ev=
angeline screeched.=20
Anwel?s bow was knocked from his hands and he yelled ?Onitor?s present! Get=
rid of it!?=20
Evangeline struggled against the arms of the Inugami. She grabbed the last =
explosive and hurled it into the crowd. It exploded, killing several, but s=
he and Anwel were caught in the inferno of red, orange, and yellow. She cou=
ld feel ash scorching her throat and the heat was unbearable.=20
She wanted to scream Anwel?s name but her throat was filled with ash.=20
Evangeline dropped to the ground and crawled away. She found a hole in the =
hard packed earth and vomited the poisons from the fire. She felt a screami=
ng pain in her left arm and looked at it. It was covered in red boils and s=
o painful tears filled her eyes.=20
She managed to shoot the remaining Inugami using her right hand to pull the=
bowstring. She crawled out of the Inugami base and collapsed, her body con=
vulsing as she retched again.=20
Evangeline fell into an uneven doze and was woken up by a figure.=20
She cried out and tried to crawl away.=20
When it grabbed her she shrieked and punched it weakly with her right fist.=
=20
?Evangeline. Evangeline, it?s me. Please. I?ll get you to Dragkon. You?re s=
ick and injured.?=20
?Anwel?? she said woozily. ?Are you okay? I?m sorry I did the explosive. I =
should have shoved it in one of their bespawling mouths.?=20
?It?s okay. I barely got hurt. Can you stand??
Evangeline nodded and stood up. She toddled along. She felt terrible knowin=
g that she was slowing them down. They were going at a slower pace than usu=
al.=20
That night, Evangeline ate some dried apple and then drank some water, rest=
oring her stomach. Anwel made sure she ate everything he gave her and then =
said ?I?m going to make you a salve. What should I get??
?There will be better salves in Dragkon, but for now get redmint, greenfoil=
, and lavender. Crush them and then boil them for ten minutes in water.?=20
Anwel nodded and returned with the herbs. He made the salve and rubbed some=
on the angry red skin of Evangeline?s arm. Even so, she could feel herself=
fading. ?I feel terrible, Anwel. I injured myself and risked your life for=
nothing.?=20
?Not for nothing.? Anwel said, smiling mischievously.=20
Evangeline pushed herself up and said ?What??=20
He held up a scrap of paper. It said ?Remeth? along with some other words i=
n Gamian, the language of Inugami.=20
?Remeth??=20
?The Dark Lord. He is a Gendan, an immortal being, as is Onitor. He?s breed=
ing Inugami. Dark times are ahead.?=20
Evangeline shook her head. ?I don?t want to think about that.?=20
Anwel nodded. He took something from his pocket and put it in her hand. It =
was a small red coin.=20
?It?s a ruby coin. They discontinued them at the end of the War of The Blac=
k Scar. Now it?s my talisman. Keep it.?=20
Evangeline looked at Anwel. ?Thank you.?=20
She pocketed it and kissed Anwel on the cheek. He smiled and whispered ?You=
should go to sleep.?=20
She nodded and closed her eyes. While she waited for sleep to come, she cou=
ld feel Anwel watching her protectively.=20
Finally sleep caught her in its soft grey arms. Evangeline felt it engulf h=
er and she slipped away.=20
She had terrible dreams that she couldn?t wake up from. Fire and blood clou=
ded her unconscious and she twitched and jerked.=20
Anwel quietly rushed to her side as she moaned in her sleep.=20
She didn?t wake up until the very beginning of dawn.=20
As she opened her eyes, the first thing she said to Anwel was ?You didn?t s=
leep.? =20
He nodded. ?You were biting your nails in your sleep, so I put a pair of so=
cks on each hand.?=20
Feeling embarrassed, Evangeline looked at her hands. Sure enough, black soc=
ks were over them. She burned red with her embarrassment.=20
?Do we have any more of the salve? The burn hurts like hell.?
Anwel nodded and rubbed some of it on her burn. Since it was cold, it sooth=
ed her much better.=20
She stood up and drank a pint of water. ?Only 15 more miles, and then we re=
ach Dragkon.? Anwel said, packing up.=20
Evangeline smiled and said ?Let?s get going.?=20
So they started towards Dragkon, with a weak person and a strong person wor=

out the little town of Bisbee, Arizona about a year prior to all of this ha=
ppening. He used to live fairly close a few years ago to help take care of =
his Aunt who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease. I was told that I would abso=
lutely love it there and that I would fit right in. From seeing pictures, I=
could agree that my "hippy" side would be drawn to such a charmi=
ng town. If the "hood" side was revealed, I'm pretty sure I would=
be exiled! After all, even the people <em><span class=3D"ql-cursor">f=
rom</span></em> Philly could NOT handle my "Philly attitude"=
, so how is this place supposed to?! I was about to find out. Lucky for me,=
and everyone sitting in my general vicinity, I was too distracted by the f=
act that this all was happening that I didn't even have time to have an act=
ual panic attack. I guess that was one of the benefits of jumping on a last=
minute flight across the entire United States. You always have to look for=
that silver lining because everythin</a>g happens for a reason. </spa=

e ride there was probably the coolest thing I've experienced in my life. I =
had never flown anywhere before. I wasn't nervous at all though. I was prob=
ably way too overly excited for the other passengers, but what's the point =
of life if you can't enjoy it, right? Besides, have you ever been on an air=
plane around Christmas?! It is one of the prettiest sights you will ever se=
e. I highly recommend everyone does this at least once in their lifetime. I=
took the natural, breathtakingly beautiful experience as a sign that maybe=
this trip wouldn't be so bad after all. Maybe, I should let go of my anxie=
ties and believe that a greater power will guide us through this trip. Howe=
ver, the unknown has always been an issue for me. Nonetheless, I was on a p=
lane headed to Arizona regardless of my feelings about the uncertainty of w=
hat will be.</span></p>=20

my surprise entering Bisbee, I felt a sense of calmness come over me. =
; Looking at the people in this small town, I could tell they weren't at al=
l like any I've ever met before. Those in which society would call &q=
uot;bums" were the most accepting of all! We encountered many wo=
nderful souls in this old, historic town; an old spirit, "Eyepatch Dav=
e", another free spirit (whom I cannot recall his name), a heartwarmin=
gly friendly, elder, homeless couple, and a lovely, older woman who offered=
us fresh fruit and vegetables free of charge. The kindness of these =
so-called "vagrants" in this town was relieving. Definitely=
not something you see in my neck of the woods. That's for sure!</spa=

ere was one man that I saw while entering this so-called haunted town that =
I was drawn to immediately. He was the first person I saw there and g=

e in exchange to my head nod. There was something different about thi=
s vibrant, yet gentle, vagabond. I just couldn't put my finger on wha=
t it was yet. However, I was determined to find out. I wa=
s so intrigued by this man that I even made my fiance inquisitive too. =

roughout our time in Bisbee, we continuously crossed paths with this man.&n=
bsp; Every time he had a new, eccentric vibe; a makeshift walking stick, a =
homemade "crown of thorns", a painting of Jesus hanging from his =
back, or he would be wearing a priest's collar. He would also "B=
less" us during every encounter and even performed a little dance for =
us in the city park. I believe he has a lot to teach people. Al=
most like a modern day prophet. Funny, all my life I was taught about=
a prophet who walked the Earth among us many, many years ago. They c=
alled Him Jesus. Jesus Christ is what He is most referred to as. =
; Now this may sound a bit absurd, but could this be the Bisbee Jesus? =
; If Jesus is among us again, this man may just be Him. After all, who are =

d world, it's nice to believe in something besides all the bad. The B=
isbee Jesus gave me that credence that I desperately needed. He also =
made being across the country from everyone we know and love a little less =
stressful. Being away from everyone and everything you know,</a> exce=
pt one person, is extremely stressful during the holiday season with Christ=
mas about a week away. Christmas Day is the celebration of the birth =
of Jesus. Well, that's quite coincidental...or is it? </sp=

are told Jesus is everywhere. If He is among us once again, it would=
make sense. The way the world is going, He could "show up"=
at any time, right? They say it's happened before. Today's soc=
iety, riddled by unrest and uncertainty, could use a symbol of hope to ligh=
t the way. Maybe it's the time of the year that made me believe there=
's more than mental illness in this man, or maybe, just maybe, Jesus lives =
in Bisbee, Arizona.</span></p>=20
