There is a new release of my sendmail-8.6 binary release series:
sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/Incoming/sendmail-8.6.10-bin-jhaar.tgz
(the "-jhaar" is there 'cause someone else has bunged sendmail-8.6.10-bin.tgz
in there :-)
It is IMPORTANT that all users of sendmail-8.6.* upgrade as soon as
possible to sendmail-8.6.10 due to security holes found in
sendmail-8.6.9.
In fact there was a CERT security announcement about this several days
ago, and it appears the same bug hit over 16 different vendors.
sendmail-8.6.10-bin-jhaar.tgz is a sendmail distribution containing not just
the binary, but also an introduction to sendmail, the full Berkeley
documentation, and the configuration tree required to generate your
own sendmail.cf. As an example, I include my own file (I'm running
sendmail-8.6.10 on a PPP-connected link).
For those already running sendmail-8.6.9, you can just grab the binary
instead of downloading the entire package - it's called:
sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/Incoming/sendmail-8.6.10-exe.gz
Hopefully these will be moved into:
sunsite.unc.edu:pub/Linux/system/Mail/delivery
