Xm++/CommonInteract User Interface Development System
===================
Xm++ is a user interface framework for the C++ language. It is
designed to be a simple and intuitive programming interface to
access the functionality of commonly used GUI toolkit objects.
The first release was completely built upon X11 and the X Toolkit.
Over the time Xm++ turned into an experimental system for developing
multi platform and client/server GUIs.
Today the implementation supports Motif, Xaw (to a limited extent)
and TIP/RCI - the Toolkit Interface Protocol, a c/s GUI which
allows Xm++ applications to run over a network and/or on non-UNIX
systems. (See the release notes for more info on TIP.)
(From the README.0.62 file)
Changes from previous releases:
-------------------------------
Please have a look at README.0.6 and README.HISTORY.
Some more bug fixes.
Improvements to the XmApp class.
Additional member functions for various classes.
Object colors and cursor shapes.
Updated and improved Xm++ documentation.
Most of the library code has been PURIFIED!
Btw.: This release was not tested with X11R6 but I hope it will be
as compatible as with R3, R4 and R5. If you use X11R6 and encounter
problems please let me know, I'll try to make a fix. (Or move the
stuff to /r5contrib on ftp.x.org. ;-)
