Hi,

I've just finished up a new version of SVGATextMode. Here are the things
that changed:

- added setpalette and getpalette, to set/get the color palette. Completely
useless, but is was lying around somewhere else, and this seemed a better
  place for it to reside.
- ATI support tested and changed to make use of ALL 128 clocks available!
- multiple clocks lines supported.
- split up README into separate parts in doc directory. It was beginning to
  get bloated.
- added conditional compilation for older kernels (#define NO_VT_RESIZE).
This gives only a limited functionality (no CHANGING of modes, only
IMPROVEMENT), but allows people with older kernels to enjoy at least part
  of the goodies...

Title: SVGA textmode manipulation/enhancement
Version: 0.3
Entered-date: 31JAN95
Description: Uses extra features found in all SVGA video cards to enhance
Linux text modes independently of what the BIOS can do. It is
configured with an XF86Config-like file, and allows setting of
pixel clock, H/V timings, font size, etc. Now you can use your
video card AND your monitor to the MAX! In textmode, as you
used to do in XWindows. Current support includes S3, ET4000,
Cirrus Logic, Trident, Western Digital and ATI cards. It can
also use an external clock program (Diamond, #9GXE, ...)

NOTE: I've had many requests from people not finding SVGATextMode in the
places mentionned in the LSM file. Try an "incoming" directory on your FTP
site if SVGATextMode is not (yet) in the mentionned place!

Have fun with it!

Koen.
