NEW YORK A U.S. congressman from New York says three security
contractors, including two Americans, have been released by Iraqi Army forces after
they were held for more than two weeks.Republican Peter King announced the
releases of the men Tuesday. He identifies them as an Army veteran
from Long Island, a former National Guardsman from Savannah,Ga., and a man
from Fiji. He says they were working for a security firm when
Iraqi Ministry of Defense officials rejected paperwork prepared on their behalf by
the IraqiMinistry of Interior and held them Dec. 9.The men weren't charged
with any crimes. King says they were released Tuesday after efforts by
his office, the State Department, the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, the DefenseDepartment
and the White House.

western Massachusetts.Prince hanged herself in January 2010 after classmates taunted her
after she dated a popular boy. She had recently moved from Ireland
to South Hadley, a rural town about 100 miles west of Boston.Five
students later accepted plea deals in criminal cases connected with bullying that
preceded her death. None involved prison time.Prince's death drew international attention and
was among several high-profile teen suicides that prompted new laws aimed at
cracking down on bullying in schools. All school districts in Massachusetts are
now required to develop bullying prevention plans. After unsuccessful attempts to gain access
to details of the settlement, which was reached with the town and
its insurer in November 2010, Bazelon sought a court order to release
the information under the state's public records law.In an order dated Dec.
23, Superior Court Judge Mary Lou-Rup ruled in favor of Bazelon, saying

SACRAMENTO, Calif. Rescue firefighters responded to a Southwest Airlines flight in

jet and its passengers grounded. The left main tires blew at about 6:15

that there were no injuries tonight, and the tires never caught on
fire," Slothower said.McDonald said all passengers were being booked onto other flights.Officials
have not determined what caused the blowout and the incident is being
investigated. In the meantime, one of the airport's two runways remains closed.

PHOENIX Some people in Phoenix are threatening to pull their support
for the Humane Society after it euthanized a cat brought in for
medical treatment by a former heroin addict. The Arizona Republic reports (http://bit.ly/tNzWqN )
that Daniel Dockery's 9-month-old cat, Scruffy, was put down not because of
its wounds but because the 49-year-old Phoenix man couldn't immediately pay for
its care.Dockery had been searching for Scruffy since taking it to the
Humane Society three weeks ago and learned of Scruffy's fate on Tuesday.
He says he's devastated.A Humane Society spokeswoman says the agency took Scruffy
intending to treat it and put it in foster care, but when
he was taken to a second-chance clinic with three other cats, doctors
were only available to treat two of them.

GOP Candidates Crisscross IowaCarl Cameron reports from
Osceola, IowaNo More Bus Envy Over Obama's Iowa Big RigIf it's about
going big or going home, only four of the seven Republican presidential
candidates really have a shot at the 2012 nomination. That's because "going
big" refers to driving in style to Iowa's campaign destinations. Check out
the buses used by candidates Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, Michele Bachmann and
Mitt Romney and other options.
