TERNATE, Indonesia Officials say fast-moving mudflows streaming from the mouth of
a volcano in eastern Indonesia have killed four villagers. About 1,000 others
have fled their homes.Mount Gamalama, located in the Molucca Islands, sprang back
to life this month with a powerful, non-fatal eruption.Government spokesman Yusuf Sunnya
said Wednesday that days of heavy rains triggered flows of cold lava,
rocks and other debris that slammed into villages near the base Tuesday
night. He said four people were killed and more than a dozen others
were hospitalized with injuries ranging from broken bones to head wounds.Indonesia is
a vast archipelago with millions of people living on mountains or near
fertile flood plains. Seasonal downpours here often cause landslides.

DULUTH, Minn. A man charged with opening fire in a Minnesota

has died at a Duluth hospital.St. Louis County Sheriff Ross Litman tells

Paul is also making his final appeal.Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman
said early on he is foregoing an Iowa campaign. Each of the candidates
is looking for supporters one at a time and hoping to become
a roadblock for Romney, who is looking stronger than expected, and Paul,
whose organization is notable for its strength and vastness. With the recent
rise of Paul, closer scrutiny is being paid to his record, including
a 1990s newsletter in his name that has caused him some trouble.Santorum,
who's been one of Paul's most vocal critics during the debates, alluded
to those debates and other policy positions held by President Obama to
make his case."(Radio host) Rush Limbaugh said that the other day on
his show that you'd never have to worry a night that, you
know, I wasn't trying to do the right thing in the Oval
Office. And that's what I hope the people of Iowa have now
picked up," he said.

was announced by the Kurds in mid-November. Officials from the company did
not respond to requests for comment. If the deal goes forward, it would
be an enormous vote of confidence for the Kurds' oil policy and
could open the door for other majors to jump in."This is a
further step for the Kurds' autonomy in the federated Iraq," Theodore Karasik,
an analyst at the Dubai-based Institute for Near East and Gulf Military
Analysis said. For the company, the deal's benefits are obvious. It allows Exxon
Mobil to retain a share of the profits from the oil produced
while the service contracts offered by Baghdad provide the firms with a
flat fee per barrel of oil produced for their services. The Kurds win
the coup of netting a major company. They have unilaterally signed sc
