We are pleased to announce the first official release of the MathSpad document
preparation system.

MathSpad is a structure editor that acts as a quasi-WYSIWYG interface to
ascii mark-up languages. It is particularly oriented to the creation of
(La)TeX documents but can also be used for writing html, troff or whatever.
Using the system mathematical articles can be written
directly on-screen using standard (or non-standard) mathematical notation.
The system is based on "stencils" which are user-supplied
descriptions of the notational elements used in a document and the
corresponding mark-up that is to be produced.

The system may be downloaded from http://www.win.tue.nl/win/cs/wp/mathspad/
or from any CTAN site in the directory tex-archive/support/mathspad.

Enquiries should be mailed to mathpad@win.tue.nl.
