-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

The version of netscape 2.0b1 for Linux that was on our servers
from last night until 2:30PM PDT Saturday 10/6 was linked dynamicly
against Motif, which made it useless for a large percentage of
Linux users.

The version currently on our servers is properly linked with
static libraries, and should run on a wider range of Linux
machines.

We apologize. It was a mistake.

If you missed the initial announcment, here it is again:
- ------------------------------------------------------------

Netscape Navigator 2.0 Beta 1 now available for download

1. IS IT TRUE?

Yes, the first public beta of Navigator 2.0 is now available for
downloading.

This software is a pre-release beta, we plan to ship the final version
sometime in December.

2. WHERE ?

You can either pick one of ...

        ftp://ftp2.netscape.com/pub/beta/
        ftp://ftp3.netscape.com/pub/beta/
        ftp://ftp4.netscape.com/pub/beta/
        ftp://ftp5.netscape.com/pub/beta/
        ftp://ftp6.netscape.com/pub/beta/
        ftp://ftp7.netscape.com/pub/beta/

On Monday 10/9, this software will be mirrored at various sites
around the world, check the page:
        http://home.netscape.com/assist/beta/give-me-netscape.html
for further information.

3. DOES IT HAVE JAVA?

Yes, Java support is currently enabled for the 32 bit Windows, Solaris
2,
SunOs 4, and IRIX versions of the Navigator. Running Java applets will
probably crash your browser after a while, but you can run them.

4. WHY ELSE WOULD I WANT THIS?

Integrated mail reader, much improved news reader, client side image
maps, ftp upload, support for third party plug in viewers, and much
more. Download it and read the release notes for a better description.
