'mod' is a program that is used to play music stored in various
module-formats. Only the Gravis Ultrasound (and MAX) is supported at
the moment.

New features in v0.8 include the addition of playlists and an X
interface based on Tcl/Tk. The ncurses interface has been a bit
reworked and a bunch of other minor things improved. See the included
CHANGELOG for details.

Requirements:
                VoxWare 3.0 (or 3.0-beta1-950527 or later)
                Linux kernel >= 1.2.0
                Ncurses >= 1.8.5, preferably >=1.9.3        (optional)
                Tcl 7.3 and Tk 3.6 (optional)

Unfortunately Tcl7.4/Tk4.0 is not supported yet, so if you just
upgraded to Slackware 3.0 you will have to install the older Tcl/Tk.
When I have upgraded to the newer Tcl/Tk, a new version of 'mod' will
be released.

'mod' can be found at (when it's been moved from incoming):

sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/apps/sound/players/mod-v0.8.tgz
ftp.funet.fi:/pub/OS/Linux/util/sound/mod-v0.8.tgz

It is also available at:

http://www.efd.lth.se/~d91mn/mod.html

The archive is about 130k.

If you download my program I would appreciate if you just send me a
short note. Nothing long -- 'I got mod version 0.8 working.' is quite
sufficient. This as I would really like to know how many people out
there are using the program.

Also, you can of course send me any feedback you might have, good or
bad. I am especially interested if you know of a module that plays
incorrectly (if you don't tell me, chances are I'll never find out).

Enjoy!

/Mikael
