Subject: vgaload - System load monitor
Organization: CNR
I've created a small utility to run on the console monitor. VGALOAD will
display system load data graphically on the console monitor. It uses SVGALIB
to graph the data (Line graph). It also shows you memory and swap file usage
graphically (Bar graph). Unfortunately, there is one problem with it in that
the other VT's get scrambled (SVGALIB problem?). But if you can live without
the other VT's while it is running, then this is a good system health monitor.
The source code is included for those that are curious, and it's freeware!
I'll be updating this as I see fit, on an irregular basis.
You can get it at: ftp://gallileo.cn.ca/pub/vgaload-1.0.tgz
Documentation: There is none, it's really too simple.
Some notes though: One command line parameter, the interval in which
the information is sampled (Default: 1 second). Keys active at runtime:
1-0: Change interval from 1 to 10 seconds.
Q : Quit program
+ -: Change graph scale.
That's really all there is to it, the source will tell all.
Enjoy, I'd like to get comments on it.
