WASHINGTON The government is moving the morning-after pill over the counter
but only those 15 and older can buy it -- an attempt
to find middle ground just days before a court-imposed deadline to lift
all age restrictions on the emergency contraceptive.Today, Plan B One-Step
is sold behind pharmacy counters, and buyers must prove they're 17 or
older to buy it without a prescription. Tuesday's decision by the Food
and Drug Administration lowers the age limit and will allow the pill
to sit on drugstore shelves next to spermicides or other women's health
products and condoms -- but anyone who wants to buy it must
prove their age at the cash register. Some contraceptive advocates called
the move promising."This decision is a step in the right direction for
increased access to a product that is a safe and effective method
of preventing unintended pregnancies," said Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash. "It's
also a decision that moves us closer to these critical availability decisions
being based on science, not politics."But earlier this month, U.S. District
Judge Edward Korman of New York blasted the Obama administration for imposing
the age-17 limit, saying it had let election-year politics trump science
and was making it hard for women of any age to obtain
the emergency contraception in time. He ordered an end to the age
restrictions by Monday. The women's group that sued over the age limits said
Tuesday's action is not enough, and it will continue
By a 54-41 percent margin, American voters would get rid of the
sweeping 2010 health care law if given the option, according to a
new Fox News poll. The poll, released Wednesday, also shows most voters --
71 percent -- think the more than 15,000 pages of regulations that
implement the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare, are way
over the top. Some 19 percent say that number of pages seems
about right. The concern about the small mountain of health care rules is
bipartisan. Even 56 percent of Democrats call the 15,000 pages of regulations
way over the top, as do 71 percent of independents and 87
percent of Republicans. As for the law itself, the poll asks people what
they would do with it if there were an up-or-down vote today. While
a 54-percent majority would repeal the law, 41 percent would keep it
in place. Thats mostly unchanged from two years ago, when 56 percent
said they would cancel it and 39 percent wanted the law to
remain (January 2011).On the law itself views are divided along partisan
lines. By a 48 percentage-point margin, most Democrats favor keeping Obamacare
(72-24 percent), while Republicans favor repealing it by an even wider 77-point
margin (87-10 percent). Independents also favor repeal, but by a narrower
16-point margin (53-37 percent).Voters give President Obama negative ratings
on health care. By a 10-point margin, more disapprove (53 percent) than
approve (43 percent) of his job performance. Thats the

<p style="font-size:xx-small;">Looking to take the high life underground, Chinas officials are reportedly
moving their secret parties to saunas disguised as farmhouses and hiding
pricey alcohol inside water bottles.New Chinese President Xi Jinping has
warned fellow Communist party officials to cut back on spending public money,
but the People's Daily, the partys official newspaper, says some still arent
getting the message."Instead of going out to high-end restaurants, [officials]
are now eating in private clubs," it said Wednesday on its front
page, according to The Telegraph. "Is this deep-rooted habit of dining out
on public funds so hard to change?"The newspaper also said it has
received reports of officials hiding Panda cigarettes -- around $110 US
a pack -- inside Red Pagoda packets that cost only $1.50 US.Chinas
official news agency, Xinhua, says a year-long campaign has been planned
to try to eliminate the wasteful spending.Click for more from The Telegraph.
NEW YORK Robert Downey, Jr. once again suits up in the
iconic red and gold suit for the third installment of the Iron
Man franchise, and as they say, third times the charm. Not only
is Iron Man 3 the best of the trilogy, its the best
Marvel film yet. Yes, even better than last summers uber-blockbuster The
Avengers. Its not that Iron Man 3 is distinctly different than the other
Marvel films, or even superhero films in general. In fact, Iron Man
3 takes the best pages from many other films like The Dark
Knight trilogy and Superman II. But the smart, bullet-train script, Downey,
Jr.s uproarious performance and an entertaining detective adventure make
Iron Man 3 unadulterated fun.Now that the awe of having all of
the Avengers together in one film is behind us, Iron Man 3
gets down to business with a compact, solid story building upon the
Avengers mythology while returning its focus to Tonys development without
sacrificing that expected Marvel universe spectacle.Robert Downey, Jr. hasnt
been more comfortable in a role than he is as Tony Stark,
and the actor knows it. He is right at home dishing insults
and throwing out obscure movie and pop culture references one moment then
zipping through the sky and rescuing a group of people falling from
Air Force One the next. Its a whirlwind of a role and
Robert Downey, Jr. makes it all look so incredibly easy. This is
the Robert Downey, Jr. show and we have the best seat in
the house.Though Iron M
