-- and even the partial shutdown of a critical flood warning system.But
Sen. Tom Coburn says there's "no shortage of potential savings," pointing
out that the department is nevertheless spending millions on newly created
monuments and landmarks.The Oklahoma Republican, who has been hounding federal
agencies for weeks about questionable spending under the cloud of sequester,
aired his grievances with the Interior Department in a letter to Secretary
Sally Jewell Tuesday."It makes little sense to expand the number of sites
at the same time the budget of every other park is being
cut and visitors are being turned away from visiting the White House,"
Coburn wrote.Coburn pointedly questioned department efforts to name new
sites and expand others -- decisions that will contribute to the department's
annual costs. Coburn said the National Park Service has designated 13 new
historic landmarks and three new monuments since the sequester hit March
1. One of those landmarks, he noted, is a whiskey distillery --
the George T. Stagg Distillery in Kentucky. Other newly created landmarks
include the Connecticut home of abolitionist Harriet Beecher Stowe, the
historic bridge crossed by civil rights marchers in Selma, Ala., and an

<p style="font-size:xx-small;">The U.S. has identified the mastermind of the Benghazi attack, sources tell
Fox News, though the individual apparently is walking free in Libya.The
confirmation from multiple sources comes more than seven months after the
assault on two U.S. locations in Benghazi, Libya, where four Americans --
including Ambassador Chris Stevens -- were killed. President Obama pledged
after the attack that "justice will be done."But one source told Fox
News the government is "sitting on" information."We basically don't want
to upset anybody, and the problem is, if Ambassador Stevens' family knew
that we were sitting on information about the people who killed their
son, their brother, on and on, then, and we could look them
as a government in the face, then we're messing up. We're messing
up," the source said.Fox News spoke exclusively with one special operator
who watched the events unfold in real time and has debriefed those
who were part of the response. He remains anonymous for his safety
and has decided to talk because he says he and others connected
with the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks in Benghazi are frustrated with the
excuses and lack of a military response since Stevens and three other
Americans were killed."We have all the capability, all the training, all
the capacity, to kill and capture not only terrorists involved, with the
specific events of 9/11, and Ambassador Stevens' death, but terrorists that
are feeding other regions including Europe th

Mesalla neighborhood in central Damascus. Initial information indicates
that there were casualties, but the number could not be obtained immediately,
the Observatory said.It said police sealed off the area, which has restaurants,
shops and a main public transportation station linking Damascus with the
southern provinces of Daraa and Sweida.Meanwhile, the Observatory said that
a bomb exploded in a nearby neighborhood, near police headquarters on Khalid
Bin Walid Street. It said several people, including children, were wounded
in the blast.No other details were immediately available.
