The University of California at Berkeley's official Linux Users Group,
(CalLUG) is having a general meeting on
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 7:00PM
Sibley Auditorium, Bechtel Engineering Center, UC Berkeley
* Caldera raffle:
Caldera, Inc. donated several copies of their Linux-based Network Desktop
to CalLUG to be raffled off. Two copies will be given away to present
members at the end of the meeting. See <URL:http://www.caldera.com> for
more details.
* Board member elections:
At the meeting, elections for the 10 board member positions will be held.
Campus-affiliated ("active") members will be allowed to vote.
People wishing to appear on the ballot must send mail to
board@callug.cs.berkeley.edu NO LATER THAN 11:59PM this Tuesday
(September 5) and include a statement of no more than 60 words to appear
on the ballot. Write-ins after the deadline will be allowed, but they will
not have the opportunity to make a statement.
* Installation demo announcement:
CalLUG will be holding a Linux installation demo during the week following
this meeting. We will announce the date and time at the meeting.
* Office hours:
The CalLUG office is your source for Linux support, advice, documentaion,
and CD-ROMs. Office hours for the semester will be announced, and any
members wishing to hold additional hours can sign up then.
* Group sales:
We'll have information on group purchases of CD-ROMs, books, t-shirts,
and bumper stickers.
* Shape the future of CalLUG:
Following the meeting, we'll discuss CalLUG's goals for the new semester
in the lounge.
ATTENDING THE MEETING:
All are welcome at the meeting, including new Linux users or non Linux users,
and people unaffiliated with the University or CalLUG.
The Bechtel Engineering Center is located on north side of the UC Berkeley
campus. The nearest cross streets are Euclid and Hearst. Parking is
available for $3 (quarters only) in the garage at Hearst and La Loma. Street
parking is also available for free after 6pm. Links to directions to campus
via car and public transportation, as well as maps to locate the building, are

This meeting is wheelchair accessible.
