(If you don't know who I am, or if you were not aware that my fiancee
and I were planning on going to Israel for a year after our wedding
this summer, then you can ignore this message.)

(On the other hand, if you think someone who might be interested in
this message isn't listed in the recipient list above, feel free to
forward it.)

Many of you have been effected in one way or another by the fact that
my fiancee and I were planning on going to Israel for a year after our
wedding this summer. I therefore believe that it is only fair to
notify you that we have been forced to change our plans.

Until a few days ago, these plans seemed like a "sure thing" to us;
there was no question in our minds that they would come to tuition.
Unfortunately, information we have learned in the past several days
has revealed that earlier information we were given, and upon which
our plans were based, was significantly incorrect. The new
information has made it clear to us that spending July 1994 - June
1995 in Israel would be unwise.

We have therefore decided to postpone our trip to Israel until next
year; i.e., we plan to be in Israel from the summer of 1995 until the
summer of 1996.

To the SIPB service maintainers: This does not mean that I'm going to
return to putting a lot of time into maintaining SIPB services; it
just means that the process of divesting my responsibilities with
respect to those services has gotten a head start of a year.

To those who have tried to help me to find work to do while we're in
Israel: I appreciate your efforts, and I regret causing you to expend
effort unnecessarily. However, that effort is not completely
unnecessary, because I'll still need to find work for when we go next
year. I'll be contacting you in the future to discuss that.

To the people who have volunteered to take over the maintenance of my
FAQ postings: For the time being, I'd like you to keep them, both
because I don't want to be an "indian giver," and because the time
commitments required to plan a wedding are still going to be taking up
most of my time for the next several months.

To the other moderators of *.answers: I plan on continuing to
participate in moderating *.answers, but I think that the process of
switching to a new chief moderator should continue, since another
moderator should be "firmly in place" when we leave for Israel next
summer.

To my coworkers: You didn't think you could get rid of me that easily,
did you? :-)

Thank you for reading this letter. I sincerely apologize for any
inconvenience we have caused as a result of our change in plans. If
you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact me.
