During conversations over zephyr instance sipb, the following conclusion
was reached:
athena% xfree host
host: Cannot connect
means that there is no xscreensaver running on host.
athena% xfree host
Looking for xscreensaver on host. . .
Doesn't seem to be an xscreensaver listening on host
means that there is an xscreensaver running, but it is inactive.
I may be wrong, but I seem to remember that it used to behave as the latter
in either case. Anyway, this behavior should be documented in the manpage.
