New decmips inews installed in sipb locker

I managed to get the decmips inews in the sipb locker to coredump
posting one of the parts of the "List of Periodic Informational
Postings".
An optimal solution to this problem would have been to configure,
compile and install the INN version of inews for all our platforms.
However, I chose not to do this, for a few reasons:
1) I would have had to configure INN for all platforms, and the
configuration wouldn't have been the same as the one to build the news
server binaries, since I would have to tell it to look for inn.conf in
the sipb locker.
2) I wasn't entirely sure which INN tree I should use.
3) I didn't have time.
Therefore, I rebuilt the NNTP version of inews
(/afs/sipb/project/news/new/pmax_ul4/nntp/inews) with gcc (from the
outland locker) -g -O, and ran that on posting, and it didn't
coredump, so I installed that binary in the locker.
