Hello, Alex...
Right now the holdup on idraw is Interviews, which was waiting on a
stable C++ compiler. Given the `new' (ok, not amazingly new, but new
since the last time someone tried) g++ and CC support, someone should
try it again. Right now there's idraw.new for the rs6k, but that's
not a very good alternative.
As for gopher, right now the `support' issue for gopher is a bit up in
the air. There are three main groups that `support' gopher - DCNS
(Wade), the MIT Libraries, and SIPB (me). I'm talking to Wade about
what we're going to do about lots of things; something should come out
of it soon. As for the gopher text client in particular, the one that
I had previously installed in /afs/sipb/project/gopher/bin/gopher for
the DECstation and RS6k was, um, poor (frequent coredumps, Ultrix
curses lossage, etc.) (it's still thre for decmips and linux). I
didn't upgrade then because I didn't want to get involved with the
gopher/gopher+ lossage, and the emacs mode
(/mit/outland/lib/elisp/gopher.el) is a much better interface anyway,
IMHO. In any case, look for `add gopher;xgopher &' and `add gopher;
gopher &' to work sometime soon.
